Welcome to my website, my blog and my world. The world of real estate and life in the Mad River Valley of Vermont. I have been a real estate agent here for 10 years and I have lived here for 20. I chose this place over any other to live, because I could think of no other place where lifestyle and life flowed more harmoniously into one – a place to raise a family, to live a healthy, rewarding and fulfilling life, to Live Mad River.
When I decided to open my own real estate business, I did so because I felt that consumers in the real estate market were missing something that was very simple to offer, yet elusive to them. I felt I needed to offer my clients what everyone wants in real estate; someone who would work hard for THEM, keeping their best interests in mind, while navigating an increasingly complex market and marketplace. I believe that working for myself gives me the best opportunity to operate in a manner consistent with the core principals of any fiduciary relationship – that the client always comes first. I believe in my heart that when money is involved, consumers come to a default where they simply assume that the person working for them is motivated more by money than by affecting a successful transaction for a client. What I believe is that I make a living off of my reputation, and not off off the commission I earn in a single transaction. I believe that most people are intelligent enough to read between the lines, to understand if they are being taken advantage of, and I take great pride in the reputation I have earned over the years for being straight-forward, direct, open and no-nonsense about what I do. I opened my own office so that I could operate free of influence and pressure, and so that I could go to sleep at night knowing that my customers and clients walked away content that they were treated in a manner representative of how I would choose were I a consumer in the same market.
When I moved to the Mad River Valley I did so because I rolled in to town one day and fell in love immediately with the place I never wanted to leave. A place with magnificent mountains, narrow winding roads, tranquility, no stop lights and a sense of place so unique that our five towns merge into one all-encompassing name – The Mad River Valley. Its where I live and where I plan to stay.
The Mad River Valley is a unique place. It is a place where people come to get away for a day, a weekend, a week or a lifetime. It’s a place that is very special to me and my family because it is where we have grown up together. Hiking the Catamount Trail and Long Trail on weekends in the summer; skiing Sugarbush and Mad River Glen all winter. Swimming or paddling the Mad River; walking, hiking or mountain biking in the backcountry when there is not enough snow to ski it; this is the place we live and thrive. We Live Mad River.
